Try Without Signup
A real Postgres database for an hour, with no account and no card. Keep it by signing up.
One command
psql "$(npx zektor try)"zektor try prints a connection string, and tells you (on stderr) how long it works
and where to keep it. Without the CLI:
curl -X POST https://api.zektor.io/api/trial{
"connectionString": "postgresql://trial_k2f9x.zk70:…@eu-edge.zektor.io:5432/trial_k2f9x",
"connectUntil": "2026-10-02T15:04:00Z",
"claimUrl": "https://zektor.io/claim/zkc_…",
"claimUntil": "2026-10-02T17:04:00Z"
}The homepage has a Try without signup button that does the same.
How it works
- Build for 60 minutes. Connect with psql, your ORM or your AI agent. It is a real PostgreSQL database, hosted in Germany.
- Keep it, or don't. Open the claim link within 3 hours, sign up (or sign in) and
add a payment method. Your data moves into a database of your own (512 MB RAM, 5 GB
storage, €5/month, billed from then), usually within a few minutes; a notification
tells you when. Stop writing to the trial before you claim it: changes made while it
moves are not copied. The trial connection string stops working once the data has
moved, or at the end of its 60 minutes if that comes first. To get the new one,
open the database, and under Roles rotate the password of its default role
(
postgres.zk…): it owns your tables. Unclaimed trials are deleted automatically, data included.
The claim link is shown once. Keep it with the connection string.
Limits
| Connections | 3 at a time |
| Size | 200 MB; past it the database stops accepting connections (the data stays until the claim window ends) |
| Statements | 30 seconds each |
| Trials | 3 per day per network (an IPv4 address, or an IPv6 /64) |
| Privileges | Owner of its own database. No superuser, as on every Zektor database; trusted extensions such as pgcrypto, uuid-ossp, pg_trgm and citext work |
When many trials are running at once you may be asked to try again shortly.
For AI agents
The Zektor MCP server offers a create_trial_database tool when no API
token is configured, so an agent in a fresh sandbox can get its own database and hand
the claim link to you.
