Zektor.io offers straightforward monthly pricing based on the resources you provision. No hidden fees, no bandwidth charges, no long-term contracts. Cancel anytime.

All prices on this page are net and exclude VAT. See VAT for how VAT is applied to your invoice.

PostgreSQL Pricing

All tiers run on shared vCPU. PostgreSQL 16, 17 and 18 are available on every tier.

What's included

Storage

Every plan includes storage: 5GB on AKPG-5 to AKPG-40, then 10GB, 20GB and 40GB on AKPG-80, AKPG-160 and AKPG-320.

Grow a database's storage at any time, up to 1000GB, from Settings → Storage, with zektor storage resize, or through the API. It grows online, with no restart.

Storage only grows. Neither you, a plan change nor a restore can make it smaller. The only way to pay for less is to pg_dump into a new database and delete the old one.

Storage above what your plan includes is billed at €0.15/GB per month, in whole GB and prorated by the hour like plans. You pay for the size, not the usage: deleting rows frees room, not money.

Grown on the 15th of a 30-day month, that month's charge is €1.50

Automatic growth is opt-in per database and off by default. You give it a maximum above the current size, and each grow it makes is permanent and billed like one you make yourself — see Limits & Quotas for how it behaves.

Growing beyond what the plan includes, or turning on automatic growth, needs a payment method or account credit.

Databases created before growable storage existed can't grow yet. They are moving there soon, and are never billed for storage.

Valkey (Cache) Pricing

Valkey 8 and 9 are available on every tier.

VAT

Prices are net. VAT is added to your invoice based on where you are and whether you are a business:

To be zero-rated as an EU business, add your VAT ID to your account. It must pass validation against VIES — an unverified number is billed at the German rate.

How Billing Works

Monthly billing cycle

You are billed on the first of each month for the previous calendar month's usage. Your first invoice is generated at the end of your first full billing period.

Proration

If you create, upgrade, or delete an instance mid-month, costs are prorated by the hour:

Cost = (Tier price / Hours in month) x Hours active

For example, if you create an AKPG-10 instance (€12/mo) on the 15th of a 30-day month, you pay for the 360 hours that remain of the 720 in it:

(€12 / 720) x 360 = €6.00

The same applies when upgrading or downgrading — you pay for each tier only for the hours you were on it.

A plan change keeps the storage. An upgrade to a plan that includes more raises the size to that plan's, free. A downgrade keeps its size, and the GB above the smaller plan's included storage are billed: AKPG-80 at 10GB moved to AKPG-40 costs €40.00 + €0.75 a month.

Invoice amounts are rounded to the cent, so anything that works out below half a cent does not appear at all. On AKPG-5 that is roughly the first 40 minutes of an instance's life; on AKPG-320 it is under a minute.

An instance that never finished provisioning is never billed — it consumed nothing.

Branch billing

A branch is billed on its own plan, prorated by the hour it exists. A branch does not have to match the plan of the database it came from, and usually should not — it shares its storage with the source, so the smallest plan is a real option rather than a compromise.

Storage is shared at the moment of branching, so a branch adds no storage cost to begin with. While it is a branch, it pays only for what it writes itself above its plan's included storage, at €0.15/GB per month. On AKPG-5 it can write 5GB before storage costs anything; promoted, it's billed on its full size. Invoice lines name the branch:

A branch left running for seven days on AKPG-5 costs about €1.17 net (in a 30-day month). One forked to check something and deleted the same afternoon rounds to nothing.

Payment methods

Payments are processed via Mollie. Supported methods include:

• Credit and debit cards
• PayPal
• SEPA Direct Debit, iDEAL, Bancontact and other local European methods

Availability depends on your country. Setting up a payment method adds a €0.00 authorisation line to your invoice — it is not a charge.

Creating a database or a branch, scaling one up, restoring a backup into a new database, or growing storage beyond what the plan includes needs a payment method or account credit, from the dashboard, the CLI or the API alike.

Account credit

If you have account credit (from promotional offers or overpayment), it is automatically applied to your invoice total before your payment method is charged.
